I sold my dental practice in August 2014, after 36 years in practice. I contracted to remain in the practice for a period of six months to help the new practitioner to transition into the practice. Since that date four years ago I have continued to return to my former practice, and also provide locum tenens service in three different practices in addition to my former practice. The fact that I can still be productive, but not have the stress of everyday practice has made a huge difference in my personal happiness. It also provides a glide path to full retirement.
